Not only is today May 1st and the beginning of a month long celebration in honor of the Blessed Mother, but, it is also Divine Mercy Sunday and the Beatification of Blessed Pope John Paul II.
I must say that I just adore The Divine Mercy Chaplet and highly suggest it to everyone http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/index.htm Last year enjoyed reading The Life of Faustina Kowalska She was a truly amazing woman! I think it is wonderful that Blessed Pope John Paul II was Beatified today too! They could not have chosen a more appropriate day.
